Sorry for the short MLP diary, but someone took the donor list of the Proposition Eight supporters, and used Google Maps with it, to get eightmaps.
There will probably be debate over this, as the donors will be up in arms about the perceived invasion of their privacy, or comparisons made to what radical anti-abortion groups have done with publishing the names and addresses of doctors that perform abortions as some sort of "hit list."
However, there is a huge difference. Rather than being a tool for threats or intimidation, this could be a tool for good. Californians looking to fight the battle against Prop 8 and looking for places to start their outreach for the next political battle can use it as a tool to plan out canvassing and such. In this way, you can reach out to voters in areas where there are not many Prop 8 supporters and get them out to vote in the next election. In places where there are a lot of Prop 8 supporters, you can buy advertising and perhaps do demonstrations to show people that being gay is not evil and that Prop 8 has harmed families.
As tools like this become more widely available, how do you all feel about it, and is it an invasion of privacy, or a useful tool for political strategy?
