I know this is a bit unusual for a diary, and I hope not unwelcome.
Like many of you who can't make it to DC, I'm planning to celebrate on Tuesday night by having a party at my house. I've invited my friends to the "Obama Inaugurama." We're going to have food from Indonesia, Hawaii, and Chicago. I'm TiVoing the inauguration, and we're going to play Obama bingo. My Obama action figure is already installed in the decorative centerpiece.
My house is going to look like the National Convention, decked out with red, white and blue balloons and bunting, and pictures of Obama tacked up on the walls.
But I need your help with music suggestions! I don't like the prepackaged mix that Move-On is distributing to party hosts. I want to burn a CD of stuff that is peppy and positive. So far, I've got "This will be Our Year," by OK Go, off the wonderful 2004 Soundtrack for a Future America, and I've got Will.i.am's song "It's a New Day," which I also love.
Does anyone have any great suggestions?
