During last fall's campaign I asked Kos to commission a poll for NY-20 since there were no public polls on the race. You can see how that went over here.
I expect Kos had access to or at least some knowledge about the internal polls on that district, which showed Gillibrand safely ahead (Rothenberg removed the race from his competitive list during the last few weeks of the campaign, and the DCCC withheld funds from it during the final stretch as well.). Still, those of us on the ground here didn't know how comfortably ahead we were until election night, when we got a very pleasant surprise!
But now, with the special election, there is definitely a reason to poll the district, as this will likely be the highest-profile election until the governor's races in VA and NJ this fall. Tedisco may be the favorite but the outcome is not certain, especially if we keep getting stories like this coming out.
I'm sure we'll be getting a poll on the contest from Siena but frankly I don't consider them very reliable. C'mon Kos, turn R2K lose on Upstate NY!
