How about a little action on the part of the masses? Evidently we weren't taken seriously when we voted for President Obama.
Update: Well looks like the bad guys want to fight salary caps for the bankers. Hmmm, I guess we know whose interests they represent and its not the American people! They still just don't get it do they?
I've updated the list with additions from the Dkos community. Thank you!
America voted for change. We voted a president into office who we felt could bring about that change. And right now this very night the politicians who got us into a horrible war and who have destroyed our economy are nitpicking their way through the stimulus plan, put together by the man who we asked to represent us.
They are doing this for one reason. They want to protect the interests of the wealthy and powerful at the expense of ordinary (at times extraordinary) Americans. We sweat, labor and sacrifice to pay for their salaries, for their health care and for the premier education of their children. And yet they dare debate the value of helping us to make a living wage, to ensure that we have quality health care and that our children deserve good schools, a decent education and clean air to breathe. (read milking the masses for all they are worth)
We can help put an end to their selfish interests by welding the power of the boycott.
The American colonies boycott of British goods was instrumental in bringing about the American Revolution. Mahatma Gandhi used the great salt boycott to bring down an empire. Martin Luther King used the Montgomery Bus Boycott to create a wave of momentum for the American civil rights movement.
A concerted effort needs to be launched to boycott all companies who help to feather the pockets and tickle the chins of those politicians, who tonight are standing in the way of the stimulus package. These companies survive on our dollars. We need to let them know that their actions will cost them those dollars. So how about it, anyone up for creating a little excruciating economic distress for the bad guys?
