Now, I may be extrapolating a little bit (but hey, George Will does it too), but did I. or did I not, hear The Fat Man call for Revolution on his ditto show today?
Well, this is what he said yesterday,
"RUSH: Could it be, ladies and gentlemen, could it be the pulse of revolution began today? Perhaps even yesterday in Mesa, Arizona. What is apparent to me, ladies and gentlemen, your loyal, devoted host, is that President Barack Obama cannot kill the spirit of America. It cannot be silenced. It's great to be with you as we kick off another three hours of broadcast excellence from the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies. We are loaded today. And so let's just get right to it. Obama spoke at Dobson High School in Mesa, Arizona. All the kids were kept in their classrooms. They got to watch it on closed-circuit TV. There is an advanced placement government class taught by a man named Jeff Sherrer, and a story here from Mesa Arizona News, the eastvalleytribune.com suggest that these students in Dobson High School weren't buying any of what Obama had to say. This is a giant media mistake. How in the world this ever made it into print is beyond me, but it did, and now the nation is going to know about it. "
So, I'm going out on a limb here (being 150 lbs instead of 300 I suspect the limb will hold me...) and say that yes, I did hear The Fat Man continue in this thread in the two minutes I had the stomach to listen to him today.
Now, I think, that we all have freedom of speech. And, I'm sure that if we go back to FDR times that there were nasty radio and newspaper people then too, but I wonder if there were people then who similarly could str8-faced carry the water for the Hoover (etc) for eight years and then turn around and hope for someone smarter and hopefully wiser to fail right off the bat?
Just saying... I think that The Fat Man is biting off more than he can shew, out of arrogance and spitefulness? Of course, this is the guy that said, April 2008,
"Riots in Denver, the Democrat Convention would see to it that we don't elect Democrats," Limbaugh said during Wednesday's radio broadcast. He then went on to say that's the best thing that could happen to the country."
There is a time and a season for everything, and I'm hoping that The Fat Man's season is about done.
