Right wing media, Cable TV (especially our beloved MSNBC-Snark) and the GOP have all been complicit in a faux populism, revolting against the Obama Administrations latest homeowner plan, through commodities trader and alledged CNBC reporter Rick Santelli. "Faux really?" I ask?
The bottom line is, many Kossacks and average American's asked each other after Santelli's dumbfounded Rambo-rant a week ago"But if we can bail out the banks; why can't we also bail out average American homeowners?" Everyone wondered "Did he criticize the Bush Administration for doling out near trillion dollar bailouts to wall street"? Of course he didn't!
Santelli has even been on right wing radio lately, peddling his fools gold pseudo-populism.
Mmmmmhh! The latest USA Today/Gallup Poll answers that question emphatically (at the moment), even as Pat Buchanon, Chris Matthews and other cable nit-wits tell us today "Obama's responding to the pressure of Rick Santelli" in his speech tonight. Faux really?
The moral of the story is; don't always believe what you see on cable TV and the GOP.

What's troubling is; cable TV doesn't really seem to report the news anymore. They actually appear to generate it!
The latest USA Today/Gallup poll makes it very clear in it's headline "Public to feds; Help regular Folks first". But the article's first paragraph is even more telling:
As President Obama outlines his priorities to a joint session of Congress Tuesday night, Americans overwhelmingly support new spending to help individuals — including creating jobs and rescuing struggling homeowners —but oppose bailouts for automakers and banks.
The GOP, CNBC, MSNBC and Santelli, were selling us all a bill of goods, by constantly promoting those pseudo "populism, talking points"!
Where are all the GOP-ers upset with helping out Wall Street Bankers? But wait a minute? Wasn't that the whole problem American's and Kossacks complained about all winter (when Bush/Congress was bailing out the banks)? Wasn't it? Now, we have a home owner/mortgage bailouts (and a seemingly responsible one) and the nimrods are still not satisfied and want us to believe the American public is outraged, because of this! Somethings fishy!
Can we really trust our media? I think American's can actually think for themselves, when asked to be. Even people who may not support the plan in pure theoretical terms, know it's necessary. Just look at the following paragraph:
On Obama's plan to help some homeowners who can't pay their mortgages, a 59% majority call the aid "necessary" — but a 51% majority also call the taxpayer-funded rescue "unfair."
Mmmmmh! Could that had been what Santelli, the Networks and the GOP were selling us lst week? The bottom line! Some American's may not be thrilled in doing this, but realize it's necessary?
I also noticed another interesting tid bit (contrary to right wing/Cable talk). American's, actually don't mind spending money to help other American's financially, and to create jobs:
Two-thirds favor aid for struggling homeowners and state governments, but nearly six in 10 oppose it for automakers and banks that are in trouble. Eight in 10 support new programs to create jobs.
Now, I'm not sure about not helping the Auto companies out. But it's clear where American's sympathies lay. They want to help out struggling homeowners, after seeing wealthy bankers, design million dollar offices, and take home even larger multi-million dollar bonuses. American's also want to see their states get bailed out where they live, can lose their services, jobs and see their neighbors in decline. But more importanly; American's support government intervention (8 out of 10)to create jobs!
Did you hear that White House?
American's also indicate in many of the latest polls, that the economy won't rebound for at least two years. Contrary to media manipulaters; their being patient and cemented in reality.
But unfortunately; I'm not not patient anymore with the GOP and cable TV's latest scatter brained coverage of the economy!
Usually, the American public is easily fooled by so many of these media manipulators and charlatans. But times are so hard for families and individuals, enthusiasm is so tempered, and the economy is so bad. American's are not being easily fooled anymore! That started with the election of President Obama, and happily it continues till now, and the future!
