I don't know whether it was the Associate Press' Ben Feller who decided that a photo of jarheads grumbling would be used next to the headline that they'll be out of Iraq in 2010 ... or whether it was the webmaster at The Detroit News.
But one thing I believe ... someone did it deliberately.

The subconscious mind, for most only-half-reading Americans has an entire conversation going on that the conscious mind isn't even invited into. This one screams slant. It's not until you click on the story and look to the right that you see a description that explains that what they grumpy looking men are really doing is WAITING FOR THE PRESIDENT TO ARRIVE
I'm neither amused ... nor oblivious to the attempt to create a consensus that doesn't even exist. True, the men and women at the President's speech today weren't jumping out of their seats everytime Obama said "the cue phrase - terrorist" like they used to do with GW Bush. But that's because they're not being coached on how to behave when the President speaks like they used to be.
What I saw today was a normal group of armed forces behave with dignity and respect, and applause where it seemed appropriate. But no where was there even a hint that this group was somehow angry that this illegal invasion was finally being snuffed out.
