It's a sleepless night, came across this on the Breitbart, haven't heard anything about it so thought I'd post it.
The United Nations is expected to sign the "U.N. Drug Strategy" in Vienna on Wednesday or Thursday, which will outline more futile strategies for a miserably failed campaign.
I guess it's about time the U.N. did this, apparently its done every 10 years-
At the last convention in 1998, the slogan "A drug free world -- we can do it" launched a campaign to eradicate all narcotics, from cannabis to heroin, by using law enforcement to tackle producers, traffickers and end users globally.
Wonder what kind of slogan they'll come up with this year. The member states will likely be more united on creating a slogan than they are in supporting the resolution-
"Even though there are member states who disagree with the declaration, it will be signed because there's no other strategy they can all agree on."
What a lame and dumb waste of time, money, and resources. Kind of counters the legalization issue going on in the U.S. right now, but not really since its pretty disconnected and will probably have minimal impact (until the U.S. heroically pledges several billion dollars towards a global anti-marijuana campaign).
Anyways, for those of you fighting the good green fight, keep on keepin' on. I think most of us in favor of legalization realize by now that it's going to happen from the bottom-up, from the states to the WH, certainly not the other way around.
