I apologize for the short diary because I need to drive into work, but the cast of Morning Joe, along with Jim Cramer, just called out Jon Stewart for his deconstruction of CSNBC last week.
* Video now available after the fold.
The segment lasted at least five minutes and Joe "went off" on Stewart, saying something like, "it's easy to sit on the sidelines and cherry pick quotes from people who are on the playing field everyday." Cramer wasn't as aggressive but he also defended himself and said he's been wrong on some items but also pointed to his "right" calls over the past year or two.
I didn't realize how strongly Scarborough went after Stewart including calling him an "idealogue," which is just precious coming from Joe Scarborough.
I'm curious to see if Stewart and Co. respond to this.
I hope so.
UPDATE: Cramer was just on The Today Show and once again fought back against Stewart. The Today Show played clips from The Daily Show last night, and then Cramer defended himself and talked down about Stewart calling him, negatively, "a comedian" numerous times.
Are NBC and Comedy Central owned by the same company? This is starting to feel like a wrestling storyline.
UPDATE II: I had somewhat jokingly asked if NBC and Comedy Central were owned by the same company. Several of you (thank you) clarified that Comedy Central is owned by Viacom - so they are not under the same corporate umbrella.
UPDATE III: Wow, thank you for the recommendations; I've never been on this list before. I hope to add the video of Morning Joe and The Today Show when it's available. If you find it, then please post it in the Comments and I'll update the diary with the links. I cannot get streaming video at work so I'll need to rely on you all for assistance.
UPDATE IV: Let me include a few links to video to catch everyone up since I cannot access the videos.
Here is Jon Stewart last week on The Daily Show taking apart CNBC after Rick Santelli balied on the show.
You can also see Cramer firing back at critics on Morning Joe.
UPDATE V: Okay, here are the videos in order. I could not figure out how to embed the second Daily Show clip.
