We keep reading and hearing all this discussion of whether or not Obama's trying to do too much, that he's got too much on his plate. That somehow he should only focus on one thing at a time. Really? Is this really something that some pundit or pollster or talking douche nozzle thought was relevant in any way and needed to be made part of the national conversation? It didn't take too long to figure out that they are just not used to a president who tries to do ANYTHING let alone more than one thing.
You see, we're used to this:
Yes, that's 487 days. And Camp David is not even where the president has spent the most time when not at the White House: Knoller reports that Mr. Bush has made 77 visits to his ranch in Crawford during his presidency, and spent all or part of 490 days there.
Yes, Obama's just too much of an overachiever for these people. He wants to do too much and too soon. Silly head! Doesn't he know he should have taken a vacation already (except, of course, when he does something like go on Leno...then he's being a flake, right?)? There's no way at this rate that he can beat 487 days of vacation over 8 years. Not if he keeps trying to do his job...a lot.
But we still need to poll what Americans think about this nonsense. We still need to hear Chris Matthews head explode abouit this nonsense. We still need to hear the Republi Party's concern trolls calling out from under their bridges that he's just trying to do too much.
Why?
We're just not used to a president who can walk and chew bubble gum at the same time.
Obama came to Washington to chew bubblegum and kick some ass. And he's all out of bubblegum.
