The EFF article starts out with this phrase
"You know your copyright laws are broken when there is no easy answer to the question."
Obama gave an iPod to the Queen filled with 40 showtunes. If it had been a physical item, a cd; it would of been completely legal.
But in this post DMCA world the Court's have seemed to be set on the positions that the companies take. That in this age where you buy things online, where they've arranged it so you license music instead of owning it. Reselling or gifting your music that you have bought is illegal.
That's the legacy that the DMCA and RIAA lobyist's has left us.
^ITS RIGHT THERE GOD DAMN IT^ DO YOU PEOPLE HAVE A BRAIN OR DO YOU JUST JUMP TO KNEE JERK REACTIONS 80% OF THE TIME?
It's no longer legal for a President to give some music to a Queen.
