I'm being interviewed today at 4 p.m. Pacific on a new program The Crap Whisperer, which is hosted at blogtalkradio.com. I agreed to be interviewed with my husband, who is currently co-hosting the show because so many of our friends in the blogsphere were curious about how we met on a political website.
In addition to news and diary blogs, like The Daily Kos and the new start ups, Free Range Talk, I think that blog radio will be one of the new frontiers of communications.
The history of communication is like many innovations in history; it can come in rapid bursts and sometimes be overwhelming.
Imagine going from town criers, to mail carriers, to telegraphs and then telephones. And in most of our lifetimes; we've gone from land lines, to satellite and push button to digital, wireless and voice activated. It's exciting and it's daunting and it's changed how we interact with other people and how information is communicated.
Remember personal ads in the newspaper? Now we have endless options to meet that perfect someone online. However, that's not the story of PixieThis and GrouchoKossak (aka GrouchoMarxist on the Huffington Post). We met on The Huffington Post back in the early days of the website. We weren't looking for love on web blog; we were looking, like so many of us, for a place we could express our views about the world. My husband and I still love that part of the internet; we blog, read and post daily in one or many places, but Groucho and I, we happened to have a love story in-between all the politics.
So please, listen in to this new, liberal radio program and join us in another way we can all learn to communicate and connect in this fast paced world. And feel free to call in and ask questions or share your story.
