See those white lines and smudges in the top two stars compared to the re-touched star and angel?
My new artist tells me that its caused by shooting too deep. I should've known something wasn't quite right when the shop that originally inked my angel touched it up twice and it still looked like crap. I liked the guy who owned and managed the place. I liked the general atmosphere and mood of the shop (jovial, snarky, pro-Democrat). But then came the final straw...
No tattoo should ever have scaring that deep. Ever.
This is what a well inked tattoo should look like after a few days. Even, consistent healing with the single needle outline a bit darker than the rest. And yes, it will itch like hell, but it shouldn't hurt by that point in the game.
So long story short: in any endeavor (tattoos in particular), don't fall for brand loyalty when you know in the back of your mind you're getting less than reasonable results.
