Yes, I know. I will get my own account.
There seems to be a lot of focus on the fools holding these teabag parties, or protests or whatever the hell they are. Lots of people are treating them the way they should be treated:as a joke to be ignored. Others on here have mentioned an interest in bringing out "alternate" protests, waving competing signs from a distance. That is a mistake -- it would rob this country of a wonderful PR moment, one that flushes the right wing loons down the toilet.
Let's face it, conflict makes good television. The more conflict, the more coverage. But the reality of all of this is that these are a bunch of yahoos who seem to have no idea what they are protesting.
Increased taxes? Unless this is a bunch of Wall Streeters and CEO's, all of these people are getting a tax cut, but are too drowned in propaganda to know it.
Increased debts and deficits? All of these people sat still, doing nothing as Bush ran up the federal debt from $5 trillion to $11 trillion. Bush turned over a trillion dollar deficit. He kept two wars off the books. This argument has no credibility.
Fascist/Socialist/Communist: Hilarious. May as well be arguing podiatrist/hypnotist/receptionist. Oh, wait..they are arguing hypnotist.
These people are going to look silly and ignorant. Let 'em. If liberals and progressives run out and stage counterprotests, we give these buffoons legitimacy. Then we have lots of coverage. THESE PEOPLE ARE COUNTING ON COUNTER-PROTESTS. Don't give it to them.
If a protest takes place in the woods, and nobody takes them seriously, was there a protest at all?
Let them have their PR disaster. Then laugh and laugh.
