Seriously, what's up with tea? You make it yourself, with your individual bags, it doesn't fill the kitchen with that delightful coffee aroma, it doesn't make that pop sound when you first open the giant can, and it's messy. Coffee, on the other hand, is more communal.
I start work at 6:30 in the morning. I get there at 6:15 to be to fire up the restaurant-grade Bunn coffeemaker and make two full pots to start the day (one super-charged regular, and one decaf for the faint of heart). As the rest of the crew files in they each stop by for their own cup of coffee and we greet each other and reinforce our sense of community.
Personally, I draw my daily strength from my caffeine and my DKos diaries. I enjoy the political analysis, the snark, and of course, the pootie pics. The sense of community I get from reading and recommending is very satisfying. I get no sense of community from ... tea.
So what's all this talk about tea? Sheesh. Can we talk about coffee for a change?
