[If you are perfectly satisfied with the administration and tired of reading about concerns and defending Obama, this is probably not the non-diary or article for you.]
I know, I know. There's a rule against short diaries that serve entirely or primarily to link to another diary. Here's my advance Mea Culpa, but I think many Kossacks will appreciate and could use this one, and I'm afraid that Klein's article might otherwise pass into the ether without ample exposure.
The pull-out from Klein's "Dictionary for Disheartened Obama Fans"(on alternet.org) is:
"To produce programs capable of meeting the current crises, we are all going to have to stop hoping and start demanding."
This is a refrain commonly heard on DKos, especially from those who feel underwhelmed by certain efforts, or lack thereof, by the Obama administration on issues of importance.
Klein, of course, the author of "The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism", is especially interested in economic policy, and is no doubt by the big capital, corporatist bent to the bailouts (if not the anti-Wall St rhetoric) and other non-populist facets of its effort to address the recession, but it applies just as well to the administration's position on FISA, telecom immunity, state secrets, CIA immunity, torture prosecutions, defense of the Constitution, International Law and rule of law in general, etc.
Read, take two ibuprofins and, if you feel the urge, express yourself.
