Franken wins by +312 votes.
Possible last appeal to be filed this week.
UPDATE: Kossack rincewind (h/t) just caught a Star Trib article going up by Bob Von Sterberg (already favorably mentioned below! 2 for 2, Bob!) The Senator-elect from MN is assembling (if not actually hiring) STAFF for his Washington & MN offices.

TODAY is DAY 7 since the Election Contest Court (ECC) handed down its decision in Coleman v. Franken. Coleman has 3 days left to file an appeal with the MN Supreme Court or the decision becomes final.
OK, so I got up a Sunday diary around 11:00 yesterday morning but some of you missed it. (I know this because its been a LONG time since a series diary generated only 18 comments.) But that was a GOOD thing! Shows you all have a life, you enjoyed the weather, started gardening, raked dead leaves, went out drinking, put the cell phone on "OFF" (or took the phone off the hook; I AM dating myself) and locked the master bedroom door for some winerevving (SUCH a fun verb!;-)........ well, whatever. In case you'd like to work the Sunday Crossword, its here:

Everyone is waiting for the galosh to drop, as in Coleman files his appeal with the MN Supreme Court. On the one hand Norm said he would "not take the whole 10 days before we file"--- but he's working on in it. OTOH when he had 7 days to file for an Election Contest Court appeal he took 1 and that gave me at least some grounds for thinking there might be streaks of dignity in the guy. Look like those streaks are mere oil stains on the garage floor of the Judiciary Building parking ramp.
The Mighty Wurlitzer of the VRWC is still blaring awful notes like a raw steak tossed on the keyboard. MN SENIOR Senator Amy Klobuchar has enough (double enough) to do these days without having to swat at flies circling the meat like Nev. Senator John Ensign.
Appearing on CNN, Klobuchar sparred with Sen. John Ensign, R-Nevada, who repeated GOP talking points that "votes [of all Minnesotans] should be treated the same. And I at least think that his appeal to the Minnesota Supreme Court should be heard."
DID YOU SEE THAT? Holy Smokes! Its like finding news in "Pravda"! Or truth in "Izvestia."! Amazing since those sources are the last place on earth those usually appear. (Just like a M*A*S*H episode where Hawkeye & BJ get hold of an entire side of beef. They're going to thaw it and serve it to the whole camp. BJ: "Lets serve it in the mess tent. Its the last place anybody would expect to find real food.")
What, you say? Bob Ven Sternberg's article from the Star Tribune cited above. BVS says....."repeated the GOP talking points.....". HAH! Informing readers for once that Ensign is being a shill, a tool, a parrot, a (well-tanned) lapdog, or simply Dana Perino with lousy, hairy legs.
BTW as overworked as she is, Senator Klobuchar found time to praise the holies for her staff and keep up her(excellent) crystal-ball gazing. (She may be having to work twice as hard with half the help to get only a quarter of the praise she merits, but fortunately as a woman this is not difficult. It also means she's likely working about ten times harder than Ensign does on his tan and golf handicap (Insert jokes here.)
"Since December, our staff, I'm so proud of them, they've had double the case work," she said. "Everything from veterans benefits cases to people who have lost their Social Security checks to people who are trying to adopt babies in Guatemala that are stalled out."
She noted that she had originally predicted that the Senate race would be resolved by the time ice-out was officially declared for Lake Minnetonka -- which occurred last week on the same day as the ruling of the judges.
"Now I predict this will be done when Minnesotans are allowed to swim in our lakes, which is Memorial weekend," she said Sunday.
And in honor of Memorial Day settling the whole thing, Norm Coleman's entire legal team should be thrown into a Minnesota Lake that day....... Lake Superior, so they can "enjoy" swimming in the 46 degree water. (Its so deep thats about as warm as it gets even in August.)

Nothing else going on the media, new or lame. Nothing to report so I guess the staffers might have been off winerevving with their favorite (drink/eatery/person/ etc.) Hope this will hold you with the latest from yust southeast of Lake Wobegon.
Shalom.
