I - WHERE'S OUR FUCKING MONEY, BEN?
Mr. Bernanke - quit telling us you can't tell us where trillions in Fed Fubds have gone, because you're afraid of a run on the banks. If there was going to be a run, it would have happened by now. After all, the FDIC and Treasury have given or backed over a trillion dollars without serious incident.
If it's really so bad that there could be a run, then pouring more money into it isn't the solution.
Besides, it's not your money. It's ours. You keep this up and my guess is, if there's going to be a run anywhere, it's to the Fed.
PLAGUE
BUBONIC PLAGUE - an infection that enters through the skin and travels through the lymphatics (bubos) hence the name. It is estimated to have killed hundreds of millions over the millenia.
- Generally strikes at the height of a civilization's expansion and corruption, when greed overcomes sanitation and community welfare, and trade ships and caravans travel to and fro. Resources are depleted by wars and corruption and leaving nothing to deal with the outbreak.
- Spread by fleas carried on the bodies of rats, by trade groups and armies. Most recently, Japan used plague ridden fleas as weapons against China in WWII.
- The corrupted powers that be, abdicated responsibility, ignored the obvious necessary actions of cleansing by fire and quarantine of trade. Instead, they blamed the poor and powerless, claiming it was God's wrath for their sins. Some in power continued to ignore the problem as if it wasn't of any concern -
Justinian cared more about dealing with the "glut of inheritance suits being brought as a result of the plague deaths"than the deaths themselves. Bodies were stacked in piles to rot resulting in more bodies.
- Societal structure broke down and Christians felt empowered to engage in groupthink, xenophobia and wholesale extermination of "outsiders" and those with disorders presenting like the plague.
- Stopping the plague generally, requires an Act of God(inferno) or completion of the 5 stages of grieving and the introduction of an outside authority (think Lord of the Flies) ie Nostradamus who has the good sense not to believe in talismans.
BUBONIC BANKING - an infection that enters through the mind and travels through the conscience. It is estimated to have killed hundreds of millions over the millennium, and outbreaks were a precursor to outbreaks of illness and cataclysmic societal malaise.
- Strikes at the height of a civilization's spending and corruption, when greed overcomes sensibilities and community welfare, and trade ships and societal stability travel to and fro. Resources are depleted by wars and corruption; leaving nothing to deal with the outbreak.
- Spread by flawed investment vehicles and policies promoted by rats...CEOs and the wealthy and enforced by trade groups and paramilitary/military/intelligence.
- The corrupted and gilded powers that be, abdicate responsibility, ignore the obvious and necessary actions of cleansing by fire and shutting down corrosive trade practices and blame the poor and powerless, claiming they don't work hard enough and lack powers of prognostication.
- Societal structure breaks down and extremists feel empowered to engage in groupthink, xenophobia and wholesale purging/exclusion of whoever they blame fr their problems regardless of actual guilt.
- Generally, complete systematic failure is required before the political will can be exercised by an overwhelming authority ie (FDR) who have the good sense not to believe in their own press.
III GOLDMAN-SACHS and JP MORGAN HOLIER THAN THOU MEME
There's been a meme going around that JP Morgan(who is turning in his grave) and Goldman Sachs are somehow better actors than all of the other big banks. I beg to disagree, the only evidence I see of superiority, is the ability to abscond with enough taxpayer money to cripple our future so they can live to ruin another day.
For example, these two companies are crying foul because they have to follow rules because they took TARP(Taxpayer Assault Rip-off and Pillage) funds. They want to pay it back, projecting hollow financial strength where they have none, so they can go back to self-rule again.
Well if you want out from under our thumb, get your hands out of our pockets.
Sure, they might be able to pay off the $10 billion in TARP funds. My guess is that the $40 billion JP Morgan and $30-35 billion Goldman's received for FDIC backed bonds might help them do that. If they don't mind surrendering that FDIC guarantee and the AAA rating their bondsreceived, ok. (Can anyone say AIG?)
If JP and Sachs don't mind returning the tens of billions(if not hundreds) they've borrowed from the Fed, ok.
But, they won't. Why? Because they can't. They're just as ethically lacking and guilty as all the other serial banksters.
