Who else sat jaw agape listening to Ron Suskind (author of "The One Percent Solution") Wednesday night on Rachel's show? Video is below.
Ron and Rachel were practically biting their lips at the end of the segment, it seemed to me, to keep from going too far.
But I don't mind going all the way. Here's what has finally fallen together for me:
1. Torture is known to give bad information. It's been used for millennia. The USA has never tried to justify it - till now.
2. Torture DOES force prisoners to say what their torturers WANT TO HEAR. It is used to elicit false confessions. It's always been so.
3. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld were desperate to link Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein to justify the war the Bush needed to give him BIG BALLS.
4. Cheney keeps saying "torture gives good information". He's lying and he knows he's lying!
THIS REGIME USED TORTURE KNOWINGLY TO ELICIT FALSE CONFESSIONS TO JUSTIFY BUSH'S WAR!
They were hot on using it even before the prisoners came in. They put it all in place piece by piece. They sent the interrogators back again and again saying "YOU'RE MISSING SOMETHING".
Can you imagine being waterboarded, sleep deprived and all the rest while interrogators ask you over and over - What did Saddam tell you? When did you talk to the Iraqis?
WHAT QUESTIONS WERE ASKED DURING THE INTERROGATIONS?
They weren't trying to prevent another attack. They were trying retroactively to justify Bush's War. This is the critical link - the reason why.
And they put us in the gutter, damaged us deeply, to do it - so Bush could work out his father issues.
What was the definition of evil again?
