I've been avoiding television for a while now. It's not that I have some wacky belief that it rots the brain; it's that the quality of programming has declined. Today I turned on the telly to watch some mildly amusing show called "Krod Mandoon: the Flaming Sword of Fire." It's a spoof of sword-and-sorcery epics, and even the heroes are hideously incompetent.
It's okay, but I've seen better. Still, it's bearable and I like it so far. But what's unbearable are the commercials for the Star Trek remake put out by J.J. Abrams, who really appears to have put the final nail in the franchise's coffin. It's like he tried to direct Mission: Impossible IV but with the U.S.S. Enterprise as the setting. Major suckage.
