That's pretty much the headline of an editorial by Ellen Ratner. Well, here's the ACTUAL headline: "The(sic) Is No Connection Between the Timing of the Sotomayor Announcement and the Trouble in North Korea"
Huh?
The first sentences of her commentary are no less bizarre. Ms. Ratner writes: "Many analysts feel that President Obama tried to change the subject from North Korea with his Supreme Court nomination. Nothing could be further from the truth."
Oh, well, that's good.
The cognitive dissonance made my brain ache. I wanted to write, "Many analysts feel that Ellen Ratner tried to change the subject from questions about her life-long abuse of kittens by posting a weird editorial involving some fictitious speculation by non-existent analysts."
But first, I'm turning to you, the wise Kossacks. Who is that writer and does anyone have a clue as to what it is she’s referencing? I couldn't turn up much about her on Google, and nothing at all about her essay. "Many analysts"? I couldn't find one. I know this isn’t a substantive issue, but I'm on an obsessive-compulsive quest to gain some perspective. Here's a link to the article. (Yeah, it’s Fox, but still. This is nutty even for them.)

Edit: I guess what I really want to know is, was she sincere and just stupid? Or was she being duplicitous, writing a "defense" of Obama while hoping for the oppposite affect? I've got to go to bed now. But if anyone has any insight into the writer and her background, leave a message and I'll see it in the morning. Thanks!
