Our right wing pals are up to their usual war mongering and sticking-our-nose-into-other-countries-business brand of idiocracy regarding the recent questionable elections in Iran. In a front page diary there (updated to mention that there=Redstate) entitled In Praise of Chaos in Iran - Let the Heavens Fall, the diarist spells out why the chaos currently coursing through the population in Iran is "is greatly to be encouraged".

Yes, once again the specter of regime change rears its ugly head in the world of the right wing keyboard kommando set. You see, it doesn't matter who dies or what the collateral damage might be to the population of SOME OTHER country full of brown people; it only matters that wingnuts be given their blood sacrifices in the name of democracy and capitalism. Just like the fact that the hundreds of thousands of deaths in Iraq due to their War for Profit doesn't matter one iota either.
Iran, we are told, is on the edge of, if not sliding immediately into, chaos. Both sides of the presidential election have claimed not only victory but landslide victory, and as happens in such cases in states that are not genuine democracies, the candidate who is out of power has apparently found himself under arrest, and the population is edging from restive to explosive. The usual voices of the status quo will undoubtedly tell us that America needs to be worried about this. But while chaos in Iran is not without risk, it is greatly to be encouraged.
First, Iran has been a thorn in the side of the United States, both in Iraq and more broadly around the region, and as often as not it has meddled in our and others’ affairs without cost. There are few principles of international relations more critical than always giving the other guy a downside for making trouble. The disputed election makes the Iranian regime vulnerable; it is precisely at such moments of vulnerability that the regime can be made to suffer the downside of making us an enemy.
Let's take a look at these two opening paragraphs for a few minutes and discuss the intent.
Due to the Presidential elections in Iraq having a very questionable outcome, the Iranian people aren't happy.
OK, I get that. Actually, been there/done that.
Yet, who are these voices of the status quo that will tell us America needs to be worried about this? More to the point, why the hell WOULDN'T America be worrided about MORE instability in a very unstable Middle East at this time?
Illegal war waged in Iraq, nuclear state Pakistan dealing with insurgents and uprisings, the usual Israel - Palistanian issues being exacerbated by a right wing Prime Minister and a terrorist led Hamas, well, thats definately 10 lbs. of shit in a 5 lb. bag already! So, wishing for chaos in Iran (because wingers don't like Iran. W told them they were part of the Axis of Evil) is kinda stupid and completely inexcuseable at this time.
The part about Iraq being a thorn in the side of the US, especially in Iraq is beyond stupid! If we weren't in Iraq in the first place, Einstein, Iran wouldn't be a thorn in our side there. DUH! The incredible ignorance displayed when the diarist says that the regime should suffer because they made us their enemy is beyond imagination.
Second, the Iranian regime is bad for the Iranian people. Anything we can do to improve the chances of eliminating that regime improves the odds of cracking open Iranian society for the better. Violence is, unfortunately, the rule rather than the exception in revolutions, but freedom often isn’t free -
Opening the Iranian society for the better is a good thing. We can agree with that. Yet, why is it always a regime when wingnuts don't like a government? Why is violence always the bestest way to get what conservatives want, as long as they aren't expected to personally get involved? Oh, I know. Freedom often isn't free. Yeah, that old canard.
A bonus look into the scary mindset of the right from the comments of this POS.
Couldn't agree with you more.
Unfortunately, I have no faith or confidence that the current Oval Office Occupant will.
And our "Chief Diplomat" went to Canada to offer words of severe’ warning to North Korea for it’s exploits, and diplo speak for Iran.
I don’t doubt that a Golden opportunity will be allowed to slip away, again.
The thought process of our extremely-right-of-center countrymen is beyond sociopathological. This is why it is so important that we continue working our asses off to keep these mentally ill cultists out of elected office. By doing so, our country might be saved from a slow descent into fascism and theocratic oligarchy.
