Iran is splitting in two. The majority, the sane youth and Mousavi supporters that make up 75% of the population of the nation, the rest the insane hardliners seen recently stalking through the streets of Tehran, holding signs of Ahmadinejad and chanting "Death to Israel."
The secular youth of Iran will not stop their protest's until their demands of simple Democracy is met. And as long as they can not speak directly for themselves, I will bring you news of what they are saying.
Allaho Ackbar.
While the most influential and senior Cleric in Iran has declared the Election to be a sham, the Green Revolution still has a long way to go.
In a act of solidarity, and support, website after website has turned their pages green in support of this revolution.
As for most of the news, it is going underground. As reports come in that the secret police in Iran is setting up proxies and tweeting them, to entrap and arrest Iranian users, the system has seeming dissipated from the public eye.
Meanwhile Obama and International Leaders have responded to these events, in a way that I feel strike a perfect balance. Hopefully they will leave them at that. Foolish idiots like McCain can go on and on, but secretly I feel these Neocon's are intentionally attempting to sabatage the movement.
A notable letter from a medical student inside Iran reveals more of the horrors.
Last night, nine people died at our hospital and another 28 had gunshot wounds. All hospital employees were crying till dawn. They (government) removed the dead bodies on back of trucks, before we were even able to get their names or other information. What can you even say to the people who don't even respect the dead. No one was allowed to speak to the wounded or get any information from them. This morning the faculty and the students protested by gathering at the lobby of the hospital where they were confronted by plain cloths anti-riot militia, who in turn closed off the hospital and imprisoned the staff. The extent of injuries are so grave, that despite being one of the most staffed emergency rooms, they've asked everyone to stay and help--I'm sure it will even be worst tonight.
What can anyone say in face of all these atrocities? What can you say to the family of the 13 year old boy who died from gunshots and whose dead body then disappeared?
This issue is not about cheating(election) anymore. This is not about stealing votes anymore. The issue is about a vast injustice inflected on the people. They've put a baton in the hand of every 13-14 year old to smash the faces of "the bunches who are less than dirt" (government is calling the people who are uprising dried-up torn and weeds) .
It's absolutely disgusting.
Meanwhile the Irani media continues to declare that the USA is involved.
That's the only sign of US intervention you'll find in Iran, the idea's of freedom.
(Also a shameless plug for the Buckeyes.)
More importantly, the information about those twiterers is EXTREMELY dangerous, and the mass media CONTINUES to broadcast that information without censoring it and without care for security. When tweeting information DO NOT include the name of the original Tweeter. Also the Mass Media need to take CONCERN for the safety of tweeters in Iran.
Edit: I did not see Markos response. Eitherway I still disagree with him. But stop turning the comments section into low tide at the pier.
Update 1
The Senior Ayatollah Montazeri had the following things to say on the Elections and the Events of he past week.
- The state has to respect everyone's viewpoints.
- The state must restore the peoples confidence in it.
- The protesters must continue to remain peaceful.
- The police forces must realize orders are no excuse for abuse of the Protesters and that censorship and cutting off communication will do more harm than good.
Furthermore a set of 7 requests created by the youth involved in this protest has been circling around Twitter.
1. Remove Khamenei from supreme leader
2. Remove Ahmadinejad because he took it forcefully and unlawfully
3. Put Ayatollah Monazeri as supreme leader until a review of the constitution is set up
4. Recognize Mousavi as official president
5. Let Mousavi rule as the constitution is reformed
6. Free all political prisoners, immediately
7. Call off all secret militia and offices
Meanwhile you can help the movement to support the Irani people by visiting Group Anonymous's website where you can help set up proxies, learn the latest news, and plan real life protests.
Meanwhile Amazing news from Robert Frisk, it seems for once the Police of Iran are protecting protesters from the Basij.
Allaho Ackbar.
Update 2
Reza Aslan, a Iranian Journalist and Professor related to several important Clerics and with strong family ties and sources within Iran, had this to say last night on CNN.
There are very interesting things that are taking place right now. Some of my sources in Iran have told me that Ayatollah Rafsanjani, who is the head of the Assembly of Experts -- the eighty-six member clerical body that decides who will be the next Supreme Leader, and is, by the way, the only group that is empowered to remove the Supreme Leader from power -- that they have issued an emergency meeting in Qom.
Now, Anderson, I have to tell you, there's only one reason for the Assembly of Experts to meet at this point, and that is to actually talk about what to do about Khamenei. So, this is what I'm saying, is that we're talking about the very legitimacy, the very foundation of the Islamic Republic is up in the air right now. It's hard to say what this is going to go.
MAJOR UPDATE
I've received news and am in DIRECT contact with ProtesterHelp on Twitter, an American from Ohio who has been distributing proxies, and information to Iranians, and organizing people to help.
PROTESTERHELP was ATTACKED today in Ohio. His information was LEAKED and he was attacked by a VEHICLE. People inside, who he say were most likely either from Lebannon or Iran, were throwing ROCKS at him.
He reported the incident to the Police who so far have been unsympathetic.
BE AWARE, these attacks have spread to the USA. Especially against those who help the Iranian people!
MORE INFO ON THIS ATTACK AS IT COMES IN!
