A hospital worker reports
Last night, nine people died at our hospital and another 28 had gunshot wounds. All hospital employees were crying till dawn. They (government) removed the dead bodies on back of trucks, before we were even able to get their names or other information.
We have likely entered the long haul of this struggle, according to many analysts. (Here I am linking to Roger Cohen's reporting.)
And the bits and pieces of the struggle within the power structure that we can observe indicate that things continue to heat up there as well.
In the letter, Karroubi says that Ahmadinejad supporters are adherents of an "archaic and reactionary form of Islam, that is, Taliban Islam".

UPDATE
I just took the word unconfirmed out of the first sentence above. Every indication is that there was horrific violence today and many deaths. Sullivan just posted a youtube video that shows a man who appears to have been beaten to death, or very close to death, being carried by a screaming crowd.
