I just got off my nightshift at the factory, and I'm dirt tired.
I love political news, but it's so damn hard to read All the Drama - Perceived Drama, Feigned Drama, Invented Drama...... Even The Daily Kos recently had a major post about editing the Troll Drama.
Aren't you folks just a wee bit tired of Everyone's Drama?
Life's not like that, you know.
>Sure, shit happens, lucky streaks become unlucky streaks (do they really happen in 3's? Mine seem to happen pretty random and continuous).
>Sure, random events sometimes unify into major events.
>Sure, some folks need to elaborate on the woeful conditions of life.
And Sure,
there's Drama sometimes about events that happen in life
(I'm 51, I'm still getting that message!).
But Please! Does Every Stinking Day Have To Have Some Drama??!
How about some happy stuff? Funny stuff? Even silly stuff?
Is it the sheer magnitude of the membership, or the whole blogosphere? Is there some overwhelming need to shout out "Look over here, Now!", due to the fear of our reader's short attention spans?
Have we all become poster children for the National Enquirer, forever locked into a world of incredulous discovery of the nature of man -
"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages."
(Thanx to William Shakespeare)
All in all, of course, this rant means absolutely nothing. I am free to surf onto other sites, change the channel, get off my butt and find a productive endeavour; And I am most certain any comments will be directed thus.
But consider this - When you participate in this "Wild West Show" we call the Internet, what are your goals? To be informed, or to be titillated?
Maybe I'm just becoming an old fart, but information without excessive adjectives, demonstrative pronouns or conjecture would be a welcome relief.
The Daily Kos has always been my source for original information, a 1st source if you will, and I've taken the heat for referencing it in my battle with the right-wing on the various Forums I post on.
Sometimes, the Drama doesn't need to be enunciated. Sometime, the information speaks for itself.
You'd be helping an old liberal warrior continue the fight just by giving him the facts.
