Newsflash! This just in from freerepublic.com:
They now try reverse psychology. They want Americans to think that the liberals want her to run, so Obama can defeat her.
But she WILL run and WILL defeat him.
Yeah the Democrats are rooting for her, that is why they bash her every second of everyday. What do they think, they think by bashing her and smearing her she would want to run. Who do they think they are fooling, ONLY THEMSELVES. Yeah Dems, keep on saying it, if you say it enough times perhaps even you will believe it
And, oh yes, my personal favorite:
Just the fact that they had a freakin PANEL discussion about Sarah Palin, a woman who has not been in the national spotlight for what, 8 MONTHS says A LOT. If they were rooting for her, they would show respect towards her, they would say nice things about her instead of bashing her and demeaning her. All they are showing is that they KNOW she can beat him. I took psychology classes in college, this is the CLASSIC thing that people do when they are terrified of someone, they demean them and smear them, but in reality are scared to DEATH of them
Well, sure, since you took psychology classes in college . . . .
This is the video about which they're commenting:

Don't wake me, I think I'm dreaming. It must be frickin' Christmas in July. Palin is the gift that keeps on giving (or maybe the joke that keeps on joking). She has the potential to tear the Republican party a new one from the inside out.
Every once in a while, Peggy Noonan, though I loathe her, writes something sensible. Yesterday, in the Wall Street Journal, she wrote:
(Palin) went on the trail a sensation but demonstrated in the ensuing months that she was not ready to go national and in fact never would be. . . .
In television interviews she was out of her depth in a shallow pool. She was limited in her ability to explain and defend her positions, and sometimes in knowing them. She couldn't say what she read because she didn't read anything. She was utterly unconcerned by all this and seemed in fact rather proud of it: It was evidence of her authenticity. She experienced criticism as both partisan and cruel because she could see no truth in any of it. She wasn't thoughtful enough to know she wasn't thoughtful enough. Her presentation up to the end has been scattered, illogical, manipulative and self-referential to the point of self-reverence.
Noonan goes on to explore some of the reasons Palin is a disaster-in-waiting for the Republicans:
"The elites hate her." The elites made her. It was the elites of the party, the McCain campaign and the conservative media that picked her and pushed her. The base barely knew who she was. It was the elites, from party operatives to public intellectuals, who advanced her and attacked those who said she lacked heft. She is a complete elite confection. She might as well have been a bonbon.
"She makes the Republican Party look inclusive." She makes the party look stupid, a party of the easily manipulated.
"She shows our ingenuous interest in all classes." She shows your cynicism.
"Now she can prepare herself for higher office by studying up, reading in, boning up on the issues." Mrs. Palin's supporters have been ordering her to spend the next two years reflecting and pondering. But she is a ponder-free zone. . . .
"The media did her in." Her lack of any appropriate modesty did her in.
When Obama was sworn in, I looked forward to kicking back with some popcorn and watching the Republican party's infighting. And I must admit it's been fun, watching our former adversaries, who so recently seemed invincible, fall over each other in a race to display their cynicism and ineptness, particularly when compared to the political brilliance of Obama. But it's beginning to look like we ain't seen nothin' yet.
Who might the Republicans rally around in 2012? Romney? The Mormon? Please! Jindal? The person of color? Get real! Newt? Maybe they'll dig up the corpse of Ronald Reagan. Jeb Bush? (ha ha . . . ha ha ha ha ha ha ha)
In my opinion, Mike Huckabee, with his "awe shuks" charm and willingness to be candid at times (such as when he said Obama's friendship with Wright was no big deal), has crossover appeal to Independents and conservative Democrats. Barring a fresh face on the scene, he may be their best shot at a respectable showing. But Huckabee can succeed as a candidate for his party's nomination only if the fundies line up solidly behind him. And with Sarah hangin' around, how likely is that?
The more I think about it, the more it seems laughable that Sarah, professional victim, the very incarnation of boundless, emancipated rage in search of a grievance, might go gently into that good night. Perhaps she'll surprise. Perhaps she truly wants to shield and spend time with her family. (Which is no doubt why she dragged them across the country and in front of the cameras last fall.)
A year and a half, in politics, is a lifetime and anything can happen. But I'm gonna be well prepared for 2011 -- with plenty of popcorn on hand!
As for the freepers, I have one thing to say: "Bring 'er on!"
