This will not be much of a Diary, but this great news needs to get out right away, and I see no other diaries reporting it.
The HELP Committee sends their health care reform bill on to the full Senate by a 13-10 vote, which as you might expect was along Party lines.
MSNBC now has the story on, showing dueling announcements by the Democratic and GOP members of the committee.
Sen. Dodd led the very happy Democratic Senators, speaking on behalf of his Chairman, Senator Kennedy, whom he spoke with by phone earlier this morning. Sen Kennedy works on the bill about 2 hours/day, MSNBC reports.
Details are sketchy, but seemingly the bill is along the lines of what the HELP Committee has been reported to be working on.
The bill is to include a requirement that employers cover their employees and that all Americans will need to be insured (mandate included).
The Bill includes a Public Option, without the heinous add-ons pushed by Conservadems (such as the much-despised "trigger")
Please go to Slinkerwink's excellent diary currently on the Rec List for details on the best way we Citizens can help the HELP committee bill, combined with the House Bill introduced yesterday get passed for the benefit of We the People!
