All these palinesque vaguaries from Gillibrand supporters who are going around saying Maloney won't fight for the public option.
It's a boldfaced lie and a disgrace to honesty and to this site in my humble opinion. I've watched Carolyn Maloney on C-Span doing just that.
They quote this press release
So, while I agree health care reform must have the public option and I will fight for it; I also believe health care reform is too important to maintain the status quo and, even though I won't like a bill that doesn't include the public option, if that happens, the principle of getting people health care who don’t currently have it must come before any one particular method to achieve it.
Principles, Carolyn, who needs those? Openness to the idea that there might be something better than public option? Really, is that possible? Are there any countries who offer universal health care that isn't public option?
We know you don't care about healthcare. What? You co-sponsored HR 676 - Single Payer? I think that's interesting.
I'm done fighting over the NY Senators - I'm making calls to fight for public option. Good day.
