Michelle Bachman unveiled a true bombshell this week when she pointed out that Page 16 of the House healthcare bill willphase out private health insurance in five years.
Well, what does that mean? That means that politicians are going to substitute their choice for your doctor’s choice for you. That’s exactly what this bill does. Here’s the other thing about that bill. It’s a monstrosity. I have the bill printed out on my desk, it’s over 1,000 pages long. On the 16th page, it says whatever health care you have now, it’s going to be gone within five years. So your current health care plan, you’re not going to have in five years. What you’re going to have is a government plan and a federal bureau is going to decide what you get or if you get anything at all.
But that's not the worst thing on page 16...

It actually makes private health insurance...gulp...illegal immediately! Bachman is wrong by five years! What's amazing is that we'll be living with a single payer system within five years and none of us knows it! And liberals are worried about this bill? It's our dream come true!
This is yet another example of the alternate universe that conservatives choose to live in. What John Cole calls Peak Wingnut. Rather than engage in the actual debate about healthcare, some people would actually prefer to discuss FEMA camps and birth certificate conspiracies and health care bills with stealth language that will shock the nation with some sort of Kafkaesque nightmare of a system and kill us all. And they love short hand and code words, so keep on the lookout for "Page 16".
