I spent quality time with the dolphins today ...

And was very pleased to encounter two manatees, too. Any manatee sighting in the summertime is good luck. Then I visited a large flock of cormorants living on a golf course. These are wonderful birds and they were not alone.
Time spent with the dolphins is never wasted. Dolphins can afford to spend so much time playing in the water because they live at peace with Nature, unlike humankind which has chosen to live perpetually outside, "above" and at war (to the death) with Nature.
If humans wanted to live at peace with Nature and had the free will necessary to do so, how would humans live?
If humans wanted to live at peace with each other and had the free will necessary to do so, how would humans live?
These are just theoretical questions. There is no doubt whatsoever that humans would never choose a peaceful lifestyle, nor could humankind ever humble itself sufficiently to accept life on Nature's terms, nor could humans ever see beyond all of the trivial differences to recognize that everyone is essentially identical and that the enemy is a fellow human and therefore too valuable to destroy.
If you were to remove all of the violence from the television there wouldn't be much television left.
If you were to remove all of the violence from the newspapers there wouldn't be much news left.
If you were to remove all of the violence from the arts there wouldn't be much art left.
If you removed all of the violence from the world's holy scriptures God wouldn't have much to say to humankind and humankind would have even less to say to God.
It is good that there are dolphins. The dolphins prove that intelligent animals can live differently than humankind. The dolphins have avoided nearly all of the mistakes committed by our species and that is why they spend so much time playing and so little time working, fighting and following the news.
