Please tell me your story. Youtube your medical insurance nightmare and show me why Health Care Reform is needed.
I remember an article that came out after California voted that homosexuals are not equal citizens, which asked homosexual people to publically announce that they are homosexual. Announce to their friends, family, co-workers. The article asked homosexual people to not be scared, and educate their peers instead. The reason, this PERSONALIZES the issue and through that empathy and equality can be achieved.
I extend this rational to the Health Care Reform Movement. I have been blessed to never have gone through a life changing medical condition. I have been blessed that this has never happened to a member of my family or a friend. Not everyone is as lucky as I am. I am positive there are thousands if not millions of people who become severely ill, do not have medical insurance or are dropped by their insurance company and do not receive help. This needs to be personalized to me. This story need to be personalized to everyone. Yes, I saw Sicko, but that was only a handful of people. Is there anyone else that went through a something like that?If someone I know is ill and cannot afford the treatment, then it will be more difficult if not impossible to consider not having health care reform. The public will be able to achieve empathy and I'm not even asking for equality. Just a fighting chance to live. A fighting chance to see the next day.
So I ask everyone who went through a medical condition or needed a treatment and was denied coverage by their insurance company, or if you supported someone who went through such an ordeal, please share your story. Please go on Youtube.com and tell us. Show us. Share with us your story. So we can understand why Health Care Reform is needed.
