I am shocked! Sen. Jefferson Beauregard Sessions (R-AL) opposes the Sotomayor nomination.
Imagine today's letter from the great-grandson of General Robert E. Lee to Sen. Sessions, handwritten with a quill pen on parchment.
"Dear Jefferson Beauregard,
Our granddaddies would be proud of your decision to oppose puttin' that [adjectives deleted] Sotomayor woman on the Supreme Court.
Their granddaddies fought to keep those kind of people in their place and y'all have to honor their legacy. There's a good reason you were named for the President of the Confederacy and its leading General, and it wouldn't look right for you to dishonor your family. We need to put our own kind in the courts.
Do you still have that Confederate flag hanging out on your veranda? We should get together and have some mint juleps over there.
The South shall rise again!
Robert
