Mr. President, you have done a lot to be admired for since you've taken office. You've had to endure in the 7 short months in office what I believe no other President has had to deal with in our entire American history (atleast not all at the same time). Unfortunately, Americans only remember the big ticket items or the pocket book issues. I've heard the pro's and con's regarding this healthcare reform debate specifically the Public Option. Some are saying you are waffling, some are saying this is strategy, and some are saying you are willing to drop the public option all together. Some of your supporters are just plain confused with all of the mixed messaging from you, your surrogates, and others. I know in your heart you are trying to do the right thing.
Mr. President..I believed in Hope and Transformational Change when I voted for you in Nov. 08. To allow the big insurance companies access to 47 million new customers without a real way to contain cost is irresponsible. People will have access but still unable to afford the insurance. And if there is a mandate for everyone to have insurance then we will have people penalized for not having insurance on top of not being able to afford it. This will make an already untenable situation much much worse for the middle class. I know there is political strategy and then there is doing what is right. Mr. President...I can't speak for others but I can say that I'd rather not have a healthcare bill if it is a bad bill that only truly benefits the healthcare industry. Please Please Please listen to James Carville. I think most of us here would rather lose fighting than to just fold our cards and hang our heads in defeat.
