Tom Daschle was President Obama's first choice. Daschle's own problems stopped that one in its tracks, and many of us breathed a sigh of relief.
Today's New York Times makes it clear we were right, he was a disastrous choice for that position. Unfortunately, he continues to be a 'resource' on health care.
Daschle has the ear of the White House
Personally, I think 'resource' is right up there with 'advanced interrogation techniques'. We all know what it really means, now the test is who ignores it and who calls it what it is.
Tom Daschle was supposed to be the White House point man on Health Care Reform. Think about it.

Personally I'm appalled that people are still seeing someone who has been pushing co-ops (something that 'dovetails' with the goals of Alston and Bird's clients) as someone who should have been head of HHS. And even more appalled that a corporate lobbyist is advising the President after his various promises and pledges.
