I'm getting ready to do some baking. I love to bake. Love it, love it, love it. It's hard work, but it's satisfying to my soul. I'm getting ready to do a bake sale.
You see, my husband's knees have gotten worse and worse. He can do almost nothing now, because it hurts to move, and that means he's putting on weight, which makes moving even harder. We need to take him to the doctor to see exactly what's going on in there, and while we can cover a doctor's visit, which will be about $150, we need to be able to afford the diagnostics, and an MRI doesn't come cheap. We've learned that the hard way. We'll worry about what exactly is going to need to be done to make his knees better once we know what's going on in there.
So I'll be baking, and holding a bake sale with an ad in the paper in a couple weeks. I can bake anything. I want suggestions. Of course, I'm pushing aside the anger. I shouldn't have to sell cookies from my front porch to get my husband's knee problems diagnosed. But that's life, right now, for the uninsured.
So far there will be chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, brownies, and a butterscotch pecan blondie on the table. I might bake a couple of pies, too. I do demonically good cheesecakes, but those are a little more of a pain in the butt to bake, cut, and package up, and will have to be kept on ice. So I'm asking the community for what their favorites are, and that way I can get an idea of what will sell best.
Ideas?
