I'm a student at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. It seems that yet again this school year there's going to be the weekly right wing FAIL editorial in the school newspaper. This week's topic is healthcare, and how a public option is a bad thing. Its full of right wing talking points with no evidence to back them up whatsoever. The link to this piece of garbage is here

I would like to combat the crap in this letter but I find I'm not educated enough to combat it without resorting to the same type of sensationalism that the author of the editorial is using. I need sources, and I know that this community can help me with that.
What I would like, if possible, is a list of links that have information that I can use to refute the claims that a public plan will force rationing, reduce the quality of care, create long waits for healthcare, raise costs, increase taxes, and that countries with national health plans facilities are dilapidated.
I would ask for links that have hard numbers or are in the vein of something peer reviewed. I don't want only partisan sources. Independent evidence would help me the most. I'll take any links that everyone can provied however. This editorial is so poor that it needs to be refuted. I would hope my fellow students would know enough than to believe this, but I would like to provide more information so that they can see for themselves that its full of lies.
If anyone in the community would like to follow the link and read this garbage, you're more than welcome. I'm not sure if you can comment if you're not a UW-M student, but if you can and you'd like to, go for it. I'm sure there's many people here who can present sourced facts to refute the claims more easily than I. I am more than willing to do the digging myself if the community can provide me with the ammunition.
I thank you all in advance!
Update. Thanks for all your help. I've posted a reply to the editorial and will keep updating if the author says anything.
