So I've been absent from the WHEE diaries most of this week (wrote an abysmal Friday night diary last week that I posted and then promptly fell asleep for). I survived Open House for parents tonight with a barely hanging in there voice and now I'm home--too tired to sleep yet--with a glass of wine on a lovely evening. Ready for WHEE and it doesn't look like anyone is lined up to write one. So join me to chat for a bit if you're around.
WHEE (Weight, Health, Eating and Exercise) is a community support diary for Kossacks who are currently or planning to start losing, gaining or maintaining their weight through diet and exercise or fitness. Any supportive comments, suggestions or positive distractions are appreciated. If you are working on your weight or fitness, please -- join us! You can also click the WHEE tag to view all diary posts.
The first couple of weeks of school have been tough. It's always tough to get back into the routine, the being on your feet all day, the remembering a bazillion details about each child (what's their reading level? math level? how do they get home? who's color blind? who has allergies? whose parents are divorced and need separate parent letters?, etc, etc.) It's taking it's toll on my memory: I forgot to wear deodorant the first day of school. Started thinking that the kiddos were pretty smelly--then realized it was me! I scooped up my dog's food this morning and put it in the trash can instead of her food bowl. I forgot the order of the days of the week while I was presenting to parents tonight. They tend to frown on that.
I've gotten on the elliptical a few times though. Made it to yoga twice a week. Last night kicked my a**. I woke up every time I rolled over because my shoulders were so sore. :-) But it feels great.
I've got a good food routine for breakfast and lunch. Dinner seems to fall apart. However, it's been falling apart because I've been too tired to cook. Fortunately, thanks to wise shopping, there's no crap food in the house. Last night I had some cold, precooked chicken breast strips and dipped them directly into a jar of salsa. I've lost 3 lbs. in 2 weeks. :-) I've hung in there. Thank the good, sweet lord (and all our unions!) for Labor Day. I tend to pull it together over the long weekend. Starting next week I may be able to form coherent sentences after six. No promises though.
How are you all doing? Hanging in there? Sticking to a plan? Starting a plan? Thinking about starting a plan?
P.S. Here are the links I would have posted in Ed G.'s great diarythis morning if I'd been around: http://www.sparkpeople.com/... Great links to dining out for fast food & casual.

Update: 11 pm EST I'm bailing again. The wine kicked in and I'm beat. Will respond to all comments tomorrow. Happy Friday to all. Happy Labor Day too!
