I have not been a fan of EMILY's List in recent cycles, but I love the concept.
I sometimes think that EMILY's has jumped into high-profile races later rather than earlier to claim a winner.
Be that as it may, their stated goal has been demonstrated this week.
WE Kossacks have demonstrated the effectiveness of Early Money!
Take a closer look at the contribution tracking for Rob Miller since the tantrum displayed by the Wilson child Wednesday evening...
At noon yesterday, Markos pointed out (SC-02: Don't get mad, get even) that WE had passed our ever-increasing goal and raised more than $225,000 for Rob Miller.
At noon yesterday, our $225,000 raise was HALF of all the ActBLUE money raised for Rob Miller.
WE were the Early Money which caused the traditional media and others to take notice of Rob Miller.
As I write this (8:30 am Central Time) 19,818 contributors have now raised $727,009 for Rob Miller. The Kossacks for Miller contributions have begun to taper off, showing $228,633 at the moment.
While our number continues to grow, but at a slower pace, 2/3 of the money being raised for Rob Miller is now coming from other sources.
Each of us who contributed early should be proud that our almost-instant involvement has produced something bigger than each of us, and now even bigger than all of us collectively.
While I've been typing this the total ActBLUE raise for Rob Miller has increased by more than $9,000. It is clear that he just may hit the $1 Million mark before the weekend.
I've posted before about the amazing foresight Markos and a handful of others had years ago. This handful of early citizen-bloggers were scoffed at when they spoke about the power of the internet.
I think our job for Rob Miller is done at the moment. "YOU LIE." Those two words have cost Just-Call-Me-Joe nearly $400,000 each, and the total continues to grow.
We can move on to calling, emailing, writing and talking about the President's plan for Health Care for ALL.
I feel good today.
