I watched as Glenn Beck tonight got so very upset and angry over the Acorn incident in Baltimore. It seems the States Attorney, Patricia Bellamy, has indicated that the two loons who went into the Acorn facility seeking to bring them down have alledgedly broken Maryland State law and may be quilty of a felony!
Hahaha. This is too great to be true, but this time it is. Maryland State Law forbids audio recording without both parties consent. I knew of this law but had forgotten it until tonight.
Glenn Beck is appalled that the States attorney should "focus" on this law rather than the incident. Of course, the incident, though it may be appalling in the way workers sought to use government funds for a criminal enterprise, the fact is that no laws were broken. There may have been intent but no laws were broken.
And, had they been broken, the evidence would be inadmissable since it was obtained by "the fruit of the poisoned tree".
And so, since Maryland State Law was broken by these "good Samaritans". . .hehehe. . .the States attorney has no choice, I believe, but to prosecute. We are a nation of laws. Patricia Bellamy did not make this law and a good argument may be made for the law to be changed. But all of that is besides the point. . .the law has been broken and justice must be served.
