For the past few weeks I have not been able to keep the promise I made to myself- loose 10% of my body weight by December. At the start of September it seemed like a very doable goal. I needed to loose 16-18 lbs for Christmas. This is last minute diary, more like an open thread of the WHEE community.

But the month of September has been bad. I lost only about 1 lb so far. Several reasons: I did not diet enough, I did not exercise enough. Every time I tried to walk at the gym or be on the elliptical my legs would be in pain. Initially, I tried to ignore it but now I am waiting for my blood tests and X-rays. But in all of this one thing I learnt, COUNTING calories helps. I know that the only way I could have possibly lost that 1 lb was because I have been counting calories. I can't diet like some of the diarist have reported for e.g. today I treated myself to a small 1/2 in piece of brownie. So, yes, baby steps.
