Much has been written about the Republican Party and its pandering to insurance company profits rather than the well-being of the American people via its inequitable opposition to comprehensible health care reform.
However, it occurs to me that the mainstream media has been negligent with regards to the absence of morality and Christianity related to greedy, selfish GOP opposition to the utilization of a small portion of their God-given wealth to improve the quality of life for their fellow human beings.
Therefore, I propose a new moniker to justifiably label the modern conservative movement and its umbrella party for what it truly represents:
CINO i.e. Christian In Name Only
For years, Americans have listened as Republicans have lectured us on the virtue of their so-called "morals".
They have castigated the gay community...
They attempted to destroy President Clinton over an affair...
They have worked to destroy comprehensive sex education...
They have justified their destructive and immoral wars by pointing to their so-called holy "missions from God" (Palin, 2008)...
Now, at a time when the country needs the grace and compassion that Jesus taught Christians to display 24/7/365, we hear them piss and moan because someone dares to collect a little of their GOD-GIVEN wealth to provide health care for those who cannot afford it as it is offered right now.
Therefore, I suggest we introduce a strong narrative into this health care debate.
Are you or are you not an individual who holds the words of Jesus Christ near and dear to your heart?
According to Bill O'Reilly, some 90% of the country identifies itself as Christian (Though I seriously doubt the number is anywhere near that high, there IS a large Christian sect within the United States). If that is truly the case, Bill, WHY DOES THE POLITICAL WING OF THIS SEGMENT OF THE COUNTRY OPPOSE PROVIDING HEALTH CARE FOR EVERY MAN, WOMAN AND CHILD?
To the mainstream media, I charge you as follows: Hold a mirror in front of these hypocrites. STOP allowing them to pick and choose the breadth of their so-called "Christianity". They either act in accordance with the principles of Christ or they should be exposed for the frauds they are.
I mean seriously, if he was walking the Earth right now witnessing how the GOP is profiting in his name, what would Jesus do?
My quarter says he would throw the bums out of the temple.
