I'm writing this to let you know about nyceve's diary on a new publicity campaign for the public option. They're Pimping Bandaids--PublicOptionPlease.com: Opt-in For Real Reform."
Please do not rec this diary, but instead go have a look at Eve's diary, and at the "PublicOptionPlease.com" web site. You'll find some very effective, very positive and visually attractive artwork for your office, car, or person (lapel pin). Once Eve's diary hits the rec list, I'll delete this one.
I've been trying to think about how to bring this campaign to a wider public, and this strikes me as a perfect place to start. Sometimes it's the small things that make a difference. Seems to me that wearing a PublicOptionPlease lapel pin gets people asking question, and creates a sense of solidarity and community among those who support the PO.
Let's do this folks.
No more bandaid solutions the health care crisis. No new compromises. No fake alternatives designed to delay the process.
The system doesn't work for people who have coverage, even "good" coverage. And we are failing our uninsured neighbors, friends and relations by leaving more than forty million people to fend for themselves when health disaster strikes.
Only a real, national, inclusive public option protects Americans long term from spiralling costs and insurance industry profit-seeking.
