A couple of weeks ago, I took my cat in for his shots. The bill was more than I was expecting, so I asked the vet to split it up and put $100 on my BofA debit card and the rest on my credit union debit card.
A few days later, I checked my balance at BofA -- overdrawn? Turns out, I only had 91 dollars in that account when I paid the vet bill. Instead of declining the charge, BofA paid it -- and charged me $35 for the $9 I was under.
But that's not all . . .
After 7 days, when I had not covered the debit (out of spite on my part, I will admit) they charged me ANOTHER $35 for being overdrawn too long.
WTF???
$70 in charges -- $35 a week on a $9 overdraft that I didn't even get a chance to decline?
$35 a week on $9. Does the mafia even charge this kind of vig?
No wonder the banks are having a great year.
