United States' insurance companies, most especially so-called "health insurance" companies, epitomize the backbone of the predatory economics system on which the economy of the U.S. and related economies are built. Insatiable lust for capital is the driving force of this predatory system.
Since the judicial system of the United States is one of laws written to enable and promote the predatory economics of capital lust morality, claims are made that it is wrong to describe policies and actions based on U.S. capital lust laws as thievery, robbery, larceny, piracy and the like because the definitions of such terms generally refer to a violation of law.
Both morally and functionally, healthcare robbery and highway robbery have many things in common, though support by U.S. law is not one of those things. Insurance companies contribute no more to the existence of healthcare than highway robbers contribute to the existence of highways.
'Highway robbery' used to be a fairly common fact of life throughout the world and still is some places. Individuals and/or gangs of individuals hold up people transiting on a 'highway' from one location to another and will not permit the traveler passage until the traveler gives up valuables. Individuals who, without government authorization, position themselves on highways in order to detain travelers and relieve them of assets are deemed to be robbers committing an act of robbery. Being permitted by law to commit such an act is commonly called taxation, although while a legal authority, a government may be responsible for the building and maintenance of the highway, the highway robber is an opportunist caring only for himself, doing nothing to make the highway better.
Likewise, insurance companies do nothing to make healthcare better, more available or more accessible. Insurance companies are robbers in the true sense of the word. Insurance companies exist to prey upon profound personal and social insecurities manifested in, consequent to and promulgated by governments based on capital lust ideology.
