I think they will. The media loves a fight - the bloodier the better. Yesterday when Harry Reid announced that he would be including a public option in the healthcare bill, the media yawned. Now that Lieberman has announced he will filibuster the legislation, will the press salivate? I know Fox News is giddy.
The nightly newscasts lead with the war in Afghanistan, the pilot scandal and a bunch of other less interesting stories before they finally reported it yesterday and NBC did not even mention it. I thought it was a pretty major development in the decades long fight over this legislation.
Bottom line is the networks do not consider real accomplishments of this administration particularly important. Note than when Obama won the Nobel Prize it unleashed a Pandora's box of bashing by the 'pundshits.'
Just like Wall Street, the journalists at major networks are obscenely remunerated. They rally around issues that benefit the six-figure class. They are no fans of Obama and his change agenda and they don't hide it. This country needs some good old fashioned journalists who cover real people with real stories. They are raining down garbage in the guise of news from their ivory towers. Or maybe I'm just too cynical.
