On the bright side of things, initial filings for jobless benefits are falling.
There were 512,000 initial job claims filed in the week ended Oct. 31, down 20,000 from a revised 532,000 the previous week, the Labor Department said in a weekly report
And viewed as a graph it does appear that things are getting better (or less worse)
Hey, if you listen to Jim Cramer (on the Chris Mattews show from earlier in October), unemployment won't get above 10%
"I think we are at the peak or within .1 [of the peak]. We are not going to breach 10%. I have my neck on the line on that."
..and Jim Cramer has never been wrong before *wink*
