The Palin novel tour bus arrived at Woodland Mall about 5PM EST.  Local TV reports that in order to get a wristband for admittance you had to be in line by midnight last night.  Apparently 1200 to 1500 people camped out for the night since the mall did not open until 7AM.  The weather has been mild but this is Michigan in November.

All wristbands were gone by noon.  In order to qualify for a wristband you had to have a receipt for a copy of her novel from Barnes and Noble.  It was reported that in order to complete the book signings for the number of wristbands given out she would have to sign a book every 15 seconds.  Not exactly up close and personal considering the wait.

Got a look at the tour bus.  Big and black with her face prominent in paint.  Also listed was an address for SarahPac also listing facebook and twitter for fund raising.

We are in the 3th Congressional District with Vern Ehlers.  Gerald Ford was our congressman for 25 years before being named Vice President.  At the special election to fill his seat, for the then 5th district, for the first last and probable only time in my life the Democrat won and for 2 years we had Dick Vanderveen in Congress.  Then things went back to "normal".  My first post on Kos was a joke about West Michigan Republicans.  How many West Michigan Republicans does it take to change a light bulb?  answer after next paragraph.

The tour has been a disaster for the mall.  The restaurant area parking was blocked off they have been dying.  People are hanging around but not visiting the stores and spending money.  And the mall had been hoping that this would be a jump on Black Friday.  One guy suggested that they could have made a killing with hot coffee and doughnuts this morning but no one did.

Local news has not been too fawning.  They talked to a few people in line and showed her arrival comments.  They keep showing the scene last night.  Even the local texting poll had her unqualified to be President.

Had you heard that she has stopped tweeting on Twitter and is now qweeting on Quitter.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
