Why is it the deficit hawks are so quick to cry foul when we talk about expanding health care coverage to everyone in this country, yet when it comes to increasing military expenditures, they fall silent?
It appears now, Barack Obama is going to authorize sending an additional 34,000 troops, at an untold cost, to Afghanistan, in the name of US security.
As for me, if I couldn't get access to health care, I wouldn't give a damn about my security. In fact if I couldn't get access to health care, I might even welcome another attack against this country. At the very least I wouldn't be any more upset, since a lot more people die from a lack of health care in this country every year, than have died in all the terrorist attacks in this country.
What good is it to protect ourselves from another terrorist attack, when it is more likely for someone to die due to lack of or an inability to access health care?
So am I alone in my beliefs, or does anyone else feel the same as me?
NOTE: I would have liked to include another poll regarding your current health care status, as I am sure your response to the poll can easily be skewed depending on the status of you health, but that doesn't seem possible.
