It was about a year ago that I found out that I was going to be a father for the first time. From the moment I found out it has been one hell of a ride. A ride that continues to awe, and inspire me every single day.
My wife's pregnancy was fairly routine. The birth went smoothly considering she was in labor for roughly 24 hours before the doc decided that a C-Section would be the best way to get the baby out. My daughter did have the cord wrapped around her neck once but, it was not causing any adverse effects. At 7:10 on July 22nd, 2009 she was born. She was 21 inches tall and weighed 7lbs 3oz.
My wife has had two subsequent surgeries since, for complications after the C-Section, and despite what she says to the contrary, she would do it all over again. So 4 months and 4 days into parenthood, we have a happy, and healthy baby girl who is now 24 inches tall and weighs 13lbs 1oz.
So without further ado, here's a look at what I am most grateful for this Thanksgiving:
