Joe Lieberman just doesn't get the hint. We've tried (Ned Lamont) to tell him he's blowing it, and it seems to me that he has enough money to buy a clue, but somehow he keeps throwing us under the bus and we just keep letting it happen.
Or I should say that Certain People keep helping him throw us there. Because hey, isn't it Harry Reid's job to take away that Chairmanship? And what about the White House telling Harry Reid to play nice with Joe?
If our elected officials are not going to take Joe out to the woodshed, then we are going to have to roll up our sleeves and do it ourselves. Think of it as a symbolic horse's head. A message to democratic leadership that the non-priveleged class in this country are getting restless.
All these actions are re-posts. I think there's enough anger at Joe that we might be able to squeeze a little more mileage out of them. I went to look up the FAcebook campaign from the diary I saw a few days ago and thought someone else might want to see it.
Sunday, Hlinko diaried an effort to raise pledges to fight Lieberman's opponent in the next race. They have a Facebook page too.
Working Assets has a petition "to push the leaders of the Democratic caucus to take a tough stand against Lieberman". It's really past time for that action but maybe when the party leaders see us taking matters into our own hands they might realize they need to shit or get off the pot.
Of course there is also the FDL action to remove Hadassah Lieberman as a paid spokesperson for the Komen Foundation.
I found a few more actions but I couldn't tell if they were recent or not. Look folks, it's time to take Lieberman down. It's not like we are going to anger him and suddenly he's going to start working against us! It's more like we progressive types are going to be eating leftovers until we finally tell the democratic party that we are a force to be reckoned with. Let's back up the House Progressive Caucus by showing DC that we are ready to change the game.
If anyone knows any other actions put them in comments and I'll update the diary.
UPDATE: Askew has a diary up to remove the mandate from the health care bill. These are the kind of things we need to make noise about.
If we can't figure out how to influence the process we have no one to blame but ourselves!
